This was my first time having Jamaican food at Scotch Bonnet. The customer service was hmmmmm mediocre at best. They did have some good music playing during the wait which was nice. The beef patty (photo attached) had a brand stamp on it. I have been trying to find a great beef patty around Atlanta. This one was not bad but not my favorite. The Jerk Chicken and Plantains were my favorite part of the meal. I don't love Plantains but I eat them occasionally and I would eat these again. The Chicken was well made and had a distinct flavor, in my opinion, I am thinking there was just some love in there!! Most Jamaican restaurants that I have patronized in Atlanta either ask if you want extra jerk sauce or provide it. They didn't and ultimately, that was my only draw back. I was satisfied with the meal. I had it for lunch and dinner so $16 was not bad for lunch/dinner. They accept debit cards.
I went for my first time and I got the oxtail dinner which was very delicious and tender, but while I was waiting one of the cooks, let me taste a rib and all I can say is, I wish I would’ve ordered that instead it was soooooo delicious. definitely will be going back.
Scotch Bonnet is one of my absolute favorites! I’ve been going here for years, and the food is always amazing — fresh, flavorful, and consistent every single time. You can really taste the care and quality in every dish. The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere feels welcoming. Definitely one of the best spots around!
When I pass by I saw a line of people so I figured it was pretty good. When my good friend took me to eat I was pleasantly surprised. The plantains was the best I've had and oh my God the cabbage was off the chain. The smoke meat was perfect however the rice was a little undercooked. I would definitely recommend this place. The best side of the road jerk chicken joint to date
This my place for Jamaican food! I use to be a curry chicken lady for years. Every since I been eating here, I love me some brown stew chicken!! They know I don't play about extra sauce, cabbage not over cooked and my plantain better be on point. I'm always greeted with a smile and even though they don't like taking pictures, I always get my favorites to pose for me. I always leave with a hot and heavy plate!
We ordered the trio with curry goat, jerk chicken, and oxtail. It came with plantain, rice and peas, and cabbage. Hands down, best rice and peas I've ever had. Plantain was super good too! The meats were decent, a bit salt heavy, and not as tender as I would've liked, but still good. Service was relatively quick. Would I return: Yes. Definitely interested in trying some other menu options and getting more rice and peas, and plantain.
